MyDenim Review- 7 Consultants Discuss the New LuLaRoe Jeans

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

UPDATE 8/5/2019: LuLaRoe scratched this version of their jeans. Click HERE to read a blog post reviewing the actual jeans that were released.

At Vision 2018 (LuLaRoe’s annual convention), LuLaRoe allowed the retailers who attended to try on their new jeans, called LuLaRoe MyDenim. After seeing these jeans for months in sneak peeks, we finally got a good look at them the week before Vision via Instagram (click HERE to read my blog post about that). I love that this ad featured real woman, so I decided to take this one step further. While at Vision, I asked 6 women to help me give their thoughts on the LuLaRoe MyDenim. I wanted to highlight all different body shapes, sizes, and heights, and present their thoughts on MyDenim. So, let’s jump into each consultants’s MyDenim review!

Devin’s MyDenim Review

Alright, I’ll be honest. I didn’t want to like these jeans. I told myself that I wasn’t going to fall in love with these jeans. Why? I couldn’t even tell you why. I love the jackets, so it made no sense for me to want to hate on them. Ok, it’s because I have a hell of a time finding jeans. I was a ballerina for years, so I expected my jeans to resemble tights in how they moved with my body. Clothing wasn’t supposed to be restrictive! Then throw in a bubble butt and a small waist and you have a recipe for a denim disaster. Fast forward almost 15 years and more weight than I’d like to admit. I had resigned myself that I’d never find pants that truly fit my curves. I got that wonderful gaping in the back or they fit in the waist but not in the thighs. Nothing ever truly fit. Insert LuLaRoe’s MyDenim! I’ve finally found some jeans that fit and are comfy! These jeans aren’t restrictive to movement, hug my body like a glove, and don’t give me a camel toe! Now, which size do I prefer? Definitely the 31, but I’d be curious to see how a 32 fits. I may end up with lots of these in my closet!

Melissa’s MyDenim Review

I tried the 34 and 36 in MyDenim and preferred the 36. I tried the black denim in the cropped length, which was a good ankle length on me at 5’. The denim is stretchy and gave my lower half a good hug, but wasn’t a stranglehold around my waist. I noticed a couple differences in the 34 and the 36. The 36 had a thick elastic waistband sewn onto the waist of the jeans, which reminded me of the waist on the Jill/Lola/Lucy skirts, but a little thicker. When I asked about it, I was told that the sizes 36+ have this as well as reinforced stretch panels in the front pockets to help give support. I’m all for this!! It’s like a little Spanx sewn in without the Spanx misery!! I can’t wait to try these again.

Bethany’s MyDenim Review

I’ve always had a hard time finding a good fit in a jean because I’m tall and curvy. Especially after having twins, my heart said “low rise is cute” and my body said “muffin top is less cute”, so that’s why I jumped head first into skirt and dress land with LuLaRoe. I had really high expectation of comfort and flattering design for MyDenim, and it did not disappoint! I did prefer the darker wash over the lighter one (personal preference) as well as the looser fit of the 32 to the snugger fit of the 31, even though both fit well and were very comfortable! Pictured is the size 32. The regular length hit perfectly on my ankle while the long had to be cuffed (which I like that look). Overall, I’m BESIDE myself excited to get my hands on these jeans, and I bet you’ll love them too!

Lindsay Collier

Height: 5’7″

Pants Size: 6

Weight: 155

Sizes Tried On: 27/28

Lindsay’s MyDenim Review

The material itself is lightweight, but seems strong. Before even putting them on, you can feel that there’s a tremendous amount of stretch capability. I grabbed my ‘ideal’ size and my ‘safe’ size. I tried on the smaller one first, because, you just gotta see, right?! It was a deep indigo wash. Fit like a glove around the waist; perfectly tight enough where I had no doubt it would stay put, but also without giving me muffin-top. I believe I had the cropped length in both sizes because the hem came right about my ankle and looked just perfect cuffed up 1x. My only complaint is that I felt like this particular size/wash dragged my butt down instead of giving it some proper lift.
With that being said, I switched over to the 28’s which were more of a medium/light wash. These, in true to size fashion, felt looser around the waist. I felt like I would most likely wear a belt to keep them from sliding down throughout the day. But they still felt perfectly fitted throughout the leg and this pair gave my hiney the room it needed!
That being said, I went in to this experience not wanting to love them. I consider myself a jean snob. I love my jeans and have had many pair over the years, high end and otherwise, that fit perfectly and get worn til they quite literally fall apart. The durability of the build and material on these is something only time will tell, but they definitely feel like they have a good handle on long-term wear. My absolute favorite part, besides my backside view in the 28’s, was the tiny turquoise stitching along the top edge of the back pockets and inside hem at the ankle. When cuffed, it just looked so damn cute and tied together.
I will quite literally be getting all the size 28’s for myself and continue to tinker around with the 27’s. These definitely have the quality feel and fit of high end denim and although the price point has yet to be released, I’m positive we’ll be getting a deal on what should be worth way more. I really was very satisfied with my experience and can’t wait to add them to my closet and shop.

Mary Jo’s MyDenim Review

The jeans were absolutely amazing!! I have never in my 40 years of life tried on jeans that were so comfortable. They were stretchy, and I could move in them without them jabbing into my stomach or feeling like my range of motion was limited. There was no gap in the back. I did not feel like they were going to fall down. The cropped was the perfect length for me at my height 5’ 1”. These jeans did not have any of the issues that I have had with past jeans.

Bobbi Jean’s MyDenim Review

The comfort, fit, and feel of the MyDenim LuLaRoe jeans is amazing! I have such a hard time find jeans that fit in both the waist and length! The regular jeans were the perfect length on me! The long jeans I did have to roll up 4-5 times, but they still looked super cute! I feel like I would be able to wear a range of sizes in these jeans instead of just one size in a department store brand! Woohoo! I did feel like the legs were a little tight (leggings-type tight), but nothing too unbearable. I am used to loose jeans, so it could also be that! Overall, I was pleased! I would live in jeans if I could, and now I just might be able to!

Amanda’s MyDenim Review

I have not worn jeans for over 3 years, and honestly, I was a bit afraid to try these jeans on just thinking that I would be unhappy with them. My very first impression while putting them on was how soft these jeans really are! Ladies, they are amazing! The cuts and the fit were so flattering, and I felt sassy in them. The cropped jeans were just so darling, and it added a special flare to these amazing pieces! I really loved the little accents that LuLaRoe added to the pieces, such as the mission statement in the lining of the pockets and the back yoke! These jeans have amazing recovery, which myself and a few other LuLaRoe ladies tested by doing kicks, squatting and bending over. We never had to pull the jeans up in the back, so let’s just say they’re AMAZING! The quality surprised me just thinking that the line would be like any other denim, but try a pair for yourself and you’ll see this is not any other denim. It is LuLaRoe My Denim! In the pictures below, I am wearing a 32 crop! I just love them, and can’t wait to get a pair in my hands!
