If you have watched the LuLaRoe world for a bit, you probably saw the DeAnne dress launch last year in the Elegant Collection. While I love this dress, it really isn’t practical to wear on a Tuesday to the grocery store in northern Wisconsin. So, when DeAnne showed up wearing a skirt that was the bottom half of this dress at LuLaRoe Leadership in April, I was thrilled! She is always dressed in LuLaRoe, so this dress coming in skirt form was closer to becoming a reality! At LuLaRoe’s annual convention, Vision, the DeAnne skirt was announced (click HERE to read more). Well friends, it’s about time I do my review of the LuLaRoe DeAnne skirt. So, without further ado, let’s jump in!
The first DeAnne item I owned. This is the Elegant version from Winter of 2017.
What is the LuLaRoe DeAnne skirt?
The DeAnne skirt is a wrap skirt. This skirt features hand pleats, triple merrow stitching (a special type of stitching along the bottom of the skirt), and elastic at the back of the waistband. Wait, why elastic? This allows the skirt to stretch and give when you’re running around, bending over, and just living your every day life. It has a button hole to feed the ties through so that you have full coverage of the wrap skirt. You don’t have to worry about having a wardrobe malfunction!
Fit of the LuLaRoe DeAnne skirt
The Waistband
I’m hesitant to like anything with elastic in the waistband because it reminds me of my jeans growing up in the late 80’s. While I get the usefulness of it, this isn’t the sexiest look for an adult. Once you have the skirt on and tied, you would never guess there is any elastic! The ties of the skirt lay right over that elastic part, with the help of some loops for feed the ties through.
The Length
Now, let me say that I’m NO Amazonian. On a good day, I’m 5’4″. That’s right, good day. So, a maxi skirt tends to make me a little nervous because they usually are too long for me. This skirt is PERFECT when it comes to length! Since it’s a true wrap, you can wear this skirt up on your natural waist or down on your hips, both of which are going to change the length of this skirt.
Sizing
Since this is a wrap skirt, there is some play with the sizing. You can size up or down once or twice, in my opinion. I wouldn’t go much further than that, though, because then you’re either worried about having enough fabric for a complete wrap of yourself, or you’re wrestling with loads of extra fabric. The length doesn’t change much between the sizes.
How to Style
This skirt is an easy one to dress up. Throw on some heels, jewelry, and lipstick and you have a date night ready outfit! But, it can be dressed down, too. In the picture above, my friend Rebecca dressed it down with some boots, a Gigi, and a Sarah cardigan. I’ve worn mine with a jean jacket and Converse, too.
Overall Opinion
I LOVE this skirt! I’m sad that it will be a limited item, so I’m working on snagging as many up as I can! I’m not a super girly-girl, but this skirt is just easy to wear! I love the versatility of it! I wish this item wasn’t a limited edition because it’s that great!
