Just this past week, LuLaRoe launched a new style! LuLaRoe has been venturing out into different styles, shapes, and silhouettes within the fashion world. They have finally launched a button up for people who are working in the business world. But, this shirt isn’t just for those who have to dress professionally. I was able to get my hands on all sizes, so it’s time do a style and sizing round up! So, let’s get down to my honest LuLaRoe Valentina review.
What is the LuLaRoe Valentina?
The LuLaRoe Valentina has been a shirt in the making for a long time. If you’re a woman with any sort of bust, you know the struggle of finding a button up shirt where you don’t have gaping is damn near impossible. You are constantly worried about a button popping open or size up and pray it doesn’t look like a bag.
LuLaRoe set out to fix this problem by creating a button up shirt that is actually tailored to a woman’s body without gaping in the chest or looking like you’re drowning in a shirt.
LuLaRoe Valentina Review: The Details
This shirt is ALL about the versatility! While the Valentina features long sleeves, it has fabric loops so that you can cuff your sleeves. I love that I can rock this shirt as a long sleeve or as half or 3/4 length sleeve! This shirt is designed to be worn buttoned up, but it also looks amazing unbuttoned over a tank or knotted up.
LuLaRoe Valentina Review: Fit
Ok, let me be completely transparent about my body shape and size so you can get a better idea of what size will work best for you. I’m a size 12/14, 34D, hourglass/borderline pear shaped, and prefer a large Classic Tee. I tend to carry my weight from my natural waist down, but do have some batwings. Ok, that’s over, so let’s cover the sizes I tried on for my honest LuLaRoe Valentina review.
I didn’t think that I’d be able to fit into a small. I saw it on a hanger and said no. But, I tried it on. I knew I wasn’t going to button it, but I was curious how it would fit in the sleeves. I was shocked when the sleeves fit! Would I wear this size every day? No, but if I loved a print, I’d make it work.
I wasn’t sure if a medium would gape on me or pull across my taco baby, but I had to button it up for this review. I was pleasantly surprised when it stayed shut, even when I tried twisting and moving. If I was wearing something high-waisted, this shirt will be long enough to tuck in. Otherwise, I might find this shirt untucking itself on the sides as the day goes on. I think I’d wear a medium over a tank and jeans more often than not.
As retailers, we were gifted a Valentina from LuLaRoe during our annual convention, and the large was the size I grabbed. I love the length of the large. It’s cute with jeans, long enough for leggings, and long enough on the sides that it will stay tucked in. If I needed to dress up professionally again, I would feel the most confident in a large.
When I saw this print, I had to try it on! Who doesn’t love a crabby shirt?! Ok, let’s get to the fit. The XL was very oversized. I felt like I was drowning in the sleeves, so I rolled them up. I think this size would be best oversized with a pair of leggings or jeans, but it would look too sloppy for a professional look.
LuLaRoe Valentina Review: Overall Thoughts
First off, the fabric used in these Valentina’s is amazing! It’s incredibly soft and stretchy. It also breathes so you don’t have to worry about overheating while wearing one. Also, this fabric is machine washable and seems to be resistant to wrinkling. I personally am excited to have a shirt option to be able to wear while I attend board meetings. I won’t be stuck in one size while wearing this style since it is incredibly versatile!
