You might have heard that LuLaRoe recently released a new shirt. Well, that can only mean one thing. I must play dress up, try on all the sizes, take photos, and let you guys know what size I would prefer. That sounds like a really rough day of work, doesn’t it? When you boil down my reviews, that’s essentially the process. So, let’s get to my honest LuLaRoe Olive review!
What is the LuLaRoe Olive?
The Olive is LuLaRoe’s newest shirt in their lineup. Click HERE to read my announcement post.
LuLaRoe Olive Review: Price
At $34, I truly feel that this shirt is well worth the price. With all of the detail work that went into the sleeves, that alone raises the value in my opinion.
LuLaRoe Olive Review: Fabric
The first round of Olive’s came in rayon slub knit. If you’ve been around in the LuLaRoe world for a bit, this is the same fabric as the first round of tank tops. My Olive’s just showed up today, so I haven’t had time to test this, but in my opinion, this fabric will wrinkle. The wrinkles will come out quickly when hung or steamed, but just be aware that this is a possibility. LuLaRoe is known for fabrics that don’t wrinkle, so be aware that this is a possibility. I will come back and update this post after I wash an Olive.
LuLaRoe Olive Review: Fit
This is why you’re really here, right? You want to know which size you need. So, let me dive in.
My Stats
Why do you want to know my stats? Knowing this information helps you decide what size would work best for you.
I’m 5’4″ (on a good day), a size 12, leaning towards 14, have a hourglass borderline pear shape, which means I carry my weight in my hips, lower stomach, thighs, and booty. I like a large Amelia, small Carly, size 32 or 34 denim based on my bloat, and a large Christy Tee.
Small
Holy crap, friends. I’m a large through-and-through. There isn’t much that’s small about me. Color me SHOCKED when I put on a small and it fit! Is it the fabric? Probably. This fabric is crazy stretchy. Will it show my tummy when I sit down? I bet so. However, this would work really well tucked into a a skirt like the Madison, Lola, or Jill.
Medium
I think my taco baby is a little more noticeable in this print versus the small do the print. However, I don’t hate it. The tulip sleeves allow for my arms to have room. In the perfect print, I will make this baby work!
Large
This is my true size. This size has room, is very comfortable, and will be my go-to size to rock with a pair of leggings.
Extra-Large
This shirt is longer, so I have a feeling that this is the sizing I will prefer with leggings. I don’t mind it with jeans, either. Frankly, I’m surprised that such a range of sizes is working!
2XL
Yeah, I just about tipped over before this picture was taken. The 2XL is getting bigger, but I still feel like I’m wearing the shirt versus the shirt wearing me.
3XL
I’m being completely honest here. I’m generally not a fan of knotting things. I’m more into function over fashion, so knotting something seems fussy. I decided to try a knot here in the 3X and LOVE it! I think it’s because when oversized, these tulips sleeves give me all of the butterfly vibes. I yet again feel like I’m wearing the shirt and not the other way around. I’m honestly amazed.
LuLaRoe Olive Review: Overall Thoughts
Since I’m being completely honest here, let me confess something. Being a curvier girl, I generally don’t like oversized looks on myself. They look like I’m hiding something instead of making a fashion statement. However, I feel like I can make the Olive work in all sizes from small through 3X depending on what I’m wearing with it. It’s honestly shocking!
