Recently, LuLaRoe launched a new skirt. This makes complete sense to me since I feel like skirts and spring go hand in hand. After a brutal winter in Wisconsin, I’m ready to let my legs see some light, even if it may scare people with how pale they are. So, let’s get down to the details! Here is my honest LuLaRoe Olivia review!
What is the LuLaRoe Olivia?
The Olivia is the newest skirt in LuLaRoe’s line up. Click HERE to read my announcement of this style.
LuLaRoe Olivia Review: Price
For $40, I feel like this is very affordable. The Maxi is $42, so this is right in line with that.
LuLaRoe Olivia Review: Fabric
The Olivia comes in 2 different fabrics: MVS and ITY.
MVS:
This is the cottony fabric you all know and love. You will find loads of LuLaRoe items in the MVS fabric. I generally stay true to size in the MVS fabric.
ITY:
This is the slinky fabric that is most commonly used in the Maxi skirt. It’s breathable and moves wonderfully, so it’s a natural pick for the Olivia. I am able to size down once in items made using the ITY fabric.
LuLaRoe Olivia Review: Fit
Let’s be honest. This is why you’re here, right? You want to know which size will best fit you. Let me get to the goods!
My Stats:
I’m giving you my stats so you can make a truly informed opinion. I’m a size 12/14 (leaning towards 14. These quarantine calories are not helping!), a 34D, 5’4″, and an hourglass/borderline pear shape. What does my shape mean? Click HERE to read more about the different body shapes.
When it comes to the Maxi skirt, I generally prefer a large.
Small
HOLY CRAP! This is a small on my size 12/14 body. I’m not joking when I say that I was freaking out. This is in the ITY fabric. There is no chance that a small in the MVS would fit. Is this size one that I’d want to wear daily? Probably not. It felt tight through the hips. I also had the waistband hiked to my boobs. I don’t think it would stay place. It would continuously ride up.
Medium
This medium is also in the ITY fabric. I have more room than in the small, but it still isn’t as easy, breezy as I would have hoped for. Would I be able to rock a medium in the MVS? I doubt it. You’d probably be able to see every dimple and divot in my booty.
Large
Ok, this is my traditional size. This one is in MVS. I would say this is the smallest I can go in this fabric. I know some people have been hesitant to wear the MVS maxi’s in the last year due to stretch issues, but I’m happy to say that the stretch is back! If this was in ITY, it would have even more stretch. I’m completely comfortable in this size.
Extra Large
This XL Olivia is MVS fabric. It’s bigger, but not sloppy. I feel like if it was in the ITY fabric, I might have a harder time keeping it up.
2XL
This one is also in MVS. It’s getting much looser on me. I doesn’t cling to my hips at all, so it’s merely resting on my hips and butt. Would I wear this normally? I’m not sure if I would do it ITY because it wouldn’t say up. MVS? Possibly for the right print. I’d tuck it into Spanx.
3XL
And now I’m having to hold this one up. Definitely doesn’t work for me, but I tried it on for the sake of the experiment.
LuLaRoe Olivia Review: Overall Thoughts
I really like the Olivia. I can see it with a chambray shirt, tank, and a straw fedora. Or, it would look really cute during fall and winter with knee-high boots. When it comes to sizing, I feel comfortable in my maxi size. I think this skirt will be a staple in my closet!
