The LuLaRoe Charlie-My Honest Review

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

The LuLaRoe Charlie was launched last week, so it’s about time I got my hands on some. Whenever a new style shows up in my shop, I have to put it on in multiple sizes to see which size I prefer. Since I’m doing this regularly, why don’t I publish my thoughts on this style? These were the thoughts that went through my head when I first started blogging. 2 years later, and we’re still doing style reviews. So, let’s get off the memories train and get down to my honest LuLaRoe Charlie review!

What is the LuLaRoe Charlie?

The Charlie is a short sleeve button up shirt. Click HERE to read about all the details.

LuLaRoe Charlie Review: Fabric

The Charlie, just like the Valentina, comes in MVS fabric. I LOVE this fabric because it doesn’t wrinkle. In fact, I left a Valentina balled up in a hotel room for 3 days. I pulled it out, gave it a quick shake, and it was wrinkle free.

MVS is incredibly soft, but still provides enough structure to support a collar. These shirts have ruined me for all other dress shirts

LuLaRoe Charlie Review: Price

At $44, this shirt is worth ever penny. It doesn’t gape in the boobs, which is a problem many women in any professional setting deal with daily.

This is why you’re here, right?

My Stats

Why am I telling you this? Knowing my sizing information will make it that much easier to make a sizing decision for yourself because you will have something to compare to.

READ  Introducing the LuLaRoe Bella

I’m 5’4″, a size 12/14, 34D, and an hourglass/borderline pear shape, which means I have curves, but my booty and thighs are getting wider than my shoulders.

Let’s start off with the provided sizing chart so we can compare with what they say.

Small

Y’all. I am shook. I’m so shook I used y’all. I’m a solid size 12/14. I SHOULD NOT be able to button this shirt! Is this going to be my go-to size? Nope. I worry that if I were to sit down, my taco tummy would show. But, I would make it work for the right print. This size would not work with leggings for me. My booty is not completely covered.

Medium

Ok, medium. This is a size down from my true size, so it doesn’t shock me that I’m able to wear this. The sleeves have room, it’s not too long, and there are no boob gaps. This will be my preferred size to wear with jeans or skirts. It’s not too long, so it would look great dressed up with a skirt or dress pants in a professional setting.

Large

This is my traditional shirt size. This is the size that I prefer in a Valentina. This fits pretty well. It’s longer, so I could wear this with leggings. I think this would be a great look unbuttoned with a tank underneath. I feel that a large is a little more casual because of the length and where it hits me.

Extra-Large

We’re nearing the territory of it getting too long and sloppy on me. I don’t hate it, but I feel like I’m wearing my husband’s shirt, if he was into butterflies.

2XL

Yeah, we’re getting really big. I would knot this up if I absolutely needed to have it because of a print.

3XL

Now we’re in too big on me territory. However, I do think this could be cute unbuttoned over a swimsuit as a coverup. This may be because I’m officially ready for summer to be here.

LuLaRoe Charlie Review: Overall Thoughts

I didn’t think it was possible to love a button up more than I do with the Valentina, but I do. This shirt is the best. The collar doesn’t get funky, it has a little more of a nipped in waist, and the fabric doesn’t wrinkle. I will go true to size with leggings or size down once with jeans or skirts.

Watch out world, I’m going to want one in every single print!
