Recently, LuLaRoe released their Valentine’s Day collection, named Amore. Within this collection is a dress that I was beyond excited for. It’s like the love child of a Debra and a Michelle, which gives me all the romantic vibes. I was super excited to be able to order, and now mine have showed up. This means it’s time for an honest review, right? Let’s get to it! Here is my honest LuLaRoe Jody review!
What is the LuLaRoe Jody?
The Jody is a mock wrap top dress. Click HERE to read more from my announcement when this style was released.
LuLaRoe Jody Review: Fabric
The Jody comes in 3 fabrics:
- 2×2 Rib: This has an almost silky feel to it
- Jersey: the soft, stretchy fabric we all know and love
- Crinkle Jersey: This almost reminds me of a linen. It has a crinkle texture to it, which provides a fun contrast to a smooth fabric.
LuLaRoe Jody Review: Price
The the number of details that were put into the Jody dress, I feel it is well worth the $52.
LuLaRoe Jody Review: Fit
My Stats:
Knowing my stats and how I carry my weight will help you make an informed decision on what size will work best for you. I’m 5’4″, a size 12/14, traditionally a size large, carry my weight in my lower stomach, hips, thighs, and booty, a 34D, and have an hourglass, borderline pear shape.
Small
Man, putting this on was ROUGH! Yes, I got it on, but it was not a good look. If I would not have been wearing Spanx, it would not have gone on. The waist band was maxed out. 0 out of 10. Do not recommend shoving my fat ass into.
Medium
Ok, this is better! It’s still a little tight, and I didn’t try sitting down to see if my taco tummy showed, but I didn’t hate it either. Would I wear this? For the right print, yes.
Large
My traditional size. This will be the size that I reach for more often than not. The waistband sits where it should, the sleeve length is good, and the chest isn’t too big.
XL
This is one up for my traditional size. The sleeve cuffs are a little loose on me and the waistband sits lower than the large, but it’s not a size that I can’t work with.
2XL
And now we’re getting too big. The waistband is at my hips, not my waist. And the sleeves? Way too loose. I won’t be grabbing this size.
3XL
Sorry friends, this size was just too big. The waistband doesn’t stay put, so I didn’t take photos.
LuLaRoe Jody Review: Overall Thoughts
I’m overall a fan of the Jody. The waistband helps create definition in an otherwise loose and flowy dress. You can change the look of the dress by untying the collar, however, smaller chested friends may struggle with it being open and too flowy. How would I improve this dress? Pockets! All clothes deserve pockets!
